Football pundit Andy Townsend has said that Luke Shaw should accept that his career at Manchester United and aim for a fresh challenge at Tottenham Hotspur.
Shaw joined United as a highly rated youngster in 2014 and some predicted that he could go on to become a future star of the team.
He is however clearly out of the first team plans of Jose Mourinho and has made no appearances in the Premier League and just two in all competitions so far this season.
One of the clubs that Shaw has been linked with the most is Tottenham. He previously has worked with Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino when the two were at Southampton.
Townsend feels that Shaw should make the move to North London for the sake of his career.
He said, “Yes he should consider a pay cut. At Luke’s age, he has to contemplate that to get regular football, He can’t stay at United forever and not get a game, Money cannot be his God at this stage of his life.”
