African star speaks regarding a potential move to West Ham United

Former Watford star Odion Ighalo has played down speculation linking him to a host of Premier League clubs including Stoke City, West Ham, Southampton and Everton.

Ighalo’s representatives reportedly have close ties to the Hammers board and offered them the chance to sign Nigerian international Isaac Success during the summer transfer window though a move did not materialize.

The 28-year-old Ighalo was part of the Watford squad between 2014-2017.

During his time at the Hornets, he established himself as a feared striker in the Premier League and went on to score 33 goals from 82 League appearances for the club before leaving in January to join Chinese club Changchun Yatai FC for a reported fee of £20 million, which is the record for a Nigerian player.

Reacting to the transfer news, Ighalo told allnigeriasoccer.com, ”It is rumours for now, but if offers come I will study them and if it’s okay by me, why not?”
