Everton have given up hopes of landing £10million target

Everton have reportedly given up on their hopes of recruiting current Watford boss Marco Silva to be their next manager.

Toffees majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has been trying for months on end to try and recruit Silva to be the clubs next manager following the sacking of Ronald Koeman after the 5-2 Premier League loss against Arsenal last month.

Everton made their first approach for Silva on November 13 and informed Watford that they would be willing to offer £10 million compensation for their manager to be released.

Watford however remained adamant that they are not willing to part ways with their highly-rated young coach at this point in time.

Everton indicated last week that they would be willing to offer more than £10 million compensation and the response from the Hornets was the same. The view at Goodison Park is that unless Silva decides to resign, there is nothing more that they can do.
