As per reports, Leeds United scouted Newcastle under-23 game against Reading in a Premier League 2 clash earlier in the week.
Out-of-favour first team midfielder Jack Colback was in action all-game during the 4-1 win, and considering manager Rafa Benitez has declared him surplus to requirements, a January exit looks to be on the card.
The 28-year-old was urged to leave during the summer transfer window, but he couldn’t get a club closer to Tyneside as his choice was to remain within the area.
With the Yorkshire club now seemingly keeping tabs on him, Colback could be keen to move to Elland Road come January.
With over 70 Championship and 170 EPL games under his belt, the English midfielder packs more than enough experience that would benefit a side like Leeds.
Colback played a huge role in ensuring Newcastle secured automatic promotion last term, and could prove key to Leeds ambitions if his services are secured over the winter transfer window.
