‘Nothing will change for Liverpool’ claims ex-star

Stan Collymore has blasted Liverpool’s defence after they squandered a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 against Sevilla in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Had the Merseyside club won the game, they would have assured themselves of qualification for the last 16. They will now need to ensure that they do not lose their final groups stage fixture against Spartak Moscow to ensure qualification.

Liverpool appeared destined for victory at half-time as they held a 3-0 lead through a brace from Roberto Firmino and a strike from Sadio Mane. However, Sevilla put in a brilliant second half display and managed to win themselves a draw.

Following the game, Collymore blasted Liverpool’s defence after the game and insists that the team will not be able to progress until they buy new defenders.

“Can analyse Liverpool all you like, it’s as simple as. The front part of the team is very good. The rear of the team isn’t very good. Nothing changes until better defensive players are bought. Nothing,” Collymore wrote on his personal Twitter account.
