Former Manchester United and Netherlands national team boss Louis Van Gaal has spoken out about rumors suggesting that he could become the new manager of Everton.
Commenting on the situation, the 66-year-old said, “Well, they are rumours. I would not bet on it, but you never know. I am retired. Something must come of which I say: I cannot refuse. But let’s wait and see.”
The Toffees have been without a manager since they parted ways with Ronald Koeman last month following their 5-2 defeat against Arsenal. The club has since been led by David Unsworth, who has been linked with the full-time managerial job.
However considering that the club has only won one of their five games played under Unsworth thus far, he will not be an ideal full-time appointment.
Marco Silva has also been linked with the club though Watford are refusing to part ways with their manager at this point in time.
Considering his extensive managerial experience, Van Gaal could be a good fit for the Toffees given their current situation.
