Star pledges his allegiance to Everton despite struggles

Everton striker Oumar Niasse has insisted that he remains fully committed to the club.

“I was about to come here [Crystal Palace] and at the end it did not happen because they know exactly what happened,” Niasse said.

“I am not going to go deep inside of what exactly happened. They know. I am happy at Everton. That is it. I moved to come to Palace with the medical check and everything and if that didn’t happen you have to understand.”

The 27-year-old joined the Toffees during the summer of 2016 and failed to establish himself at the club which led to speculation that he was going to join Crystal Palace during the last transfer window.

Everton in the end opted not to sell Niasse as they did not have sufficient options up front following the departure of Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United.

The Toffees have by and large been disappointing this season and could face a relegation battle, however Niasse has been one of the players who has so far exceeded expectations, having bagged six goals from nine appearances.
