Egyptian football legend Hazem Emam has praised Mohamed Salah for his role in guiding the Pharaoh’s to the 2018 World Cup.
Emam is a hero of the North African nation, having helped them to win the African Cup of Nations in 1998 and going on to win 87 caps for the country.
Salah, who is currently on a good run of form for Liverpool, played a crucial role in terms of Egypt gaining qualification for next year’s World Cup.
He scored twice for his country as they defeated Congo 2-1 to book their place in Russia next year.
“Salah is the man behind our qualification to the World Cup,” Emam said to the BBC praising the Liverpool star.
“When we qualified in 1990, it was more of a team effort. This time, Salah was the leader of the whole campaign.
“Nobody in the history of Egypt has reached such a level in world football and been so successful with the national team.”
