Despite their encouraging form of late, former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood has said that Liverpool can forget about winning the League title this season.
The Reds completed a 3-0 victory over Southampton during the weekend through a brace from Mohamed Salah and a strike from Philippe Coutinho.
The win meant that they have now won their past four games in succession, however launching a title challenge is still a tough ask as they are 12 points adrift of League leaders Manchester City after making a disappointing start to the season.
The Reds are still waiting to win their first piece of silverware under Jurgen Klopp and Sherwood has ruled them out of the Premier League title race for this season.
“Liverpool can’t win the league. They’re not title contenders,” Sherwood simply told Sky Sport as quoted by The Sports Review.
The last time that Liverpool won the top flight came in 1990 under Kenny Dalglish before the advent of the Premier League.
