Arsenal and Everton set to battle it out for quality midfielder this January

Arsenal are set to face competition from Everton for Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup.

The Turkey international is a product of the Arsenal youth development system and is being linked with a move back to the English giants during the January transfer window.

Fotospor has however also reported that Everton are lining up a £13 million offer for the player as they look to reinforce their midfield after making a disappointing start to the season. This is also said to be higher than Arsenal are willing to go.

Ozyakup is a product of the Arsenal academy and went on to make two appearances for the senior team which came in the League Cup.

However after struggling to establish himself within Arsene Wenger’s first team plans, he eventually left the club to join Besiktas in 2012.

He has been in impressive form recently and will likely fancy that the time is right to move to the English Premier League.
