Gianfranco Zola has given a worrying response when commenting on what he has seen West Ham do during the current campaign to avoid relegation.
The Hammers have been struggling this season and are currently languishing in 18th position on the Premier League standings after taking just nine points from their opening 12 games of the campaign.
They played their first game under new manager David Moyes on Sunday against Watford and ended up losing after Will Hughes and Richarlison managed to find the back of the net for the Hornets.
Zola who has had managerial spells with the likes of West Ham, Watford, Cagliari, Al-Arabi and Birmingham gave a worrying response when asked about what he has seen from the Hammers so far this season.
He said: “I have seen West Ham play a few times this season and I did not like what I saw. I understand that you want to try to play an attractive style of football but I haven’t seen much offensively.
“A team that plays like this won’t have much success in a competitive league like the EPL. I think that this team got worst over the past season as they are also lacking the right approach.
“I think that the stadium is very important and many fans have been telling me that it is a problem. The fans are too far which isn’t good. The past stadium was great and there was always a great atmosphere.”
