Former Real Madrid board member Roberto Hernando believes that the La Liga giants will make a move for Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino should they end up parting ways with current boss Zinedine Zidane.
Under Zidane, Madrid have been successful and have won the Champions League twice in succession.
However this season they look like a shadow of the team that they were during previous seasons which has led to speculation that the club could end up parting ways with Zidane should things not improve in the near future.
Pochettino has established himself as one of the most highly rated managers in World football during recent times after transforming Spurs from a modest team into one that can challenge for major trophies.
Hernando told France Football as quoted by Tribal Football: “I cannot see him leaving Tottenham because everything is very well organised there. (But) if Zidane stumbles at Real, he will surely be Florentino Pérez’s first choice.”
