2-time Scottish Premier League-winning manager now favorite to land Rangers job

Rangers are unable to land their top managerial target Derek McInnes almost a month after firing Pedro Caixinha, and the Ibrox outfit appear ready to move on.

With the Aberdeen boss seemingly out of reach, the Lights Blues are considering other options.

As per the bookmarkers, former Rangers manager Alexander McLeish is now favourites for the job, and considering he’s currently free, the 58-year-old remains the club’s best bet.

Back in the early 2000’s, McLeish McLeish was an instant success upon taking over at Rangers, winning both the Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup in his maiden season.

The Scot went one better the next season, landing the domestic treble.

He won the double 2 seasons later, with only the Scottish Cup eluding Rangers in 2004–05.

McLeish earlier revealed that he would love to return to the club if beckoned upon, and at the moment, he could be the man to help restore the glory days and even groom interim boss Graeme Murty.
