Rangers fans had their say on Daily Record’s Sports Hotline concerning the club’s search for a successor to Pedro Caixinha.
Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes is widely regarded as the favorite for the job, but it’s said that the Light Blues have issues with his compensation fees rumoured to be around £800,000.
The former Rangers star seems unreachable at the moment, and a certain Raymond Cranston from Dalmarnock believes former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood could be a better option.
Cranston called in on Hotline saying: “If I was on the Rangers board I’d be moving to appoint Tim Sherwood as manager.
“I was impressed with the job he did at Tottenham and he did well elsewhere before being unlucky to be sacked.
“I don’t think the club can afford to bring in McInnes but Sherwood would be a better option anyway.”
The 48-year-old pundit last managed Aston Villa after he was shown the exit following 8 months in 2015.
Sherwood’s highlight with the Villans was leading them to a first FA Cup Final in 15 years.
The Premier League winning ex-midfielder with Blackburn Rovers led Spurs to a 6th place EPL finish during a 5-month stint in 2013-14, and has quite a handful of experience.
Sherwood is very much available and might have a hard time rejecting the Rangers job, but it doesn’t appear he’s on the board’s list of candidates.
