Moyes indentifies EPL defender with 181 games experience as top January target

As per the Daily Mirror, new West Ham manager David Moyes has eyes set on Brighton centre-back Lewis Dunk as his potential first singing in January.

The Hammers have leaked most goals (23) this season, keeping just 3 clean sheets, and the Scot has identified the Seagulls star as the ideal man to help add steel to his defence.

Dunk has been integral to the newly promoted side’s impressive Premier League campaign, helping them to 4 clean sheets and just a goal shipped per game on an average.

The 25-year-old has been a main stay in Brighton’s defence since 2010, helping them from the League One to the topflight and amassing 181 league games under his belt.

Standing at an impressive 6ft 4in, Dunk provides aerial protection and threat at both ends of the pitch, while his ball interception, passing and tackling abilities have earned him lots of praises.

Having recently extended his stay at the Falmer Stadium until 2022, pricing Dunk away will come at a price, and Moyes is likely to be strongly backed by the board during the winter transfer window.
