Don Balon has claimed that Liverpool have reached a deal with Schalke over the transfer of Leon Goretzka as reported by The Mirror.
Goretzka’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the season and he is expected to take on a new challenge by joining a new club. He has been linked with a number of clubs including Tottenham, Barcelona and Arsenal.
It has also been reported that Goretzka rejected an offer to join Barcelona because the salary package that they offered him was too low.
He has so far scored four goals from nine appearances this season and is a world-class player. He was impressive for the German national team during their 2017 Confederations Cup triumph and at just 22 years of age, he will continue to get better with time.
If Liverpool do end up signing him it will be a major coup and they will hope that the German influence of Jurgen Klopp can make a deal happen.
