Agent of West Ham defender makes transfer claims

The agent of West Ham defender Arthur Masuaku has claimed that four clubs from the Serie A are chasing his client.

The agent of Masuaku, Francesco Lingenti is hoping to secure a move to Italy for his client after previous attempts at joining a club in the Serie A fell through.

Due to the high demand which Masuaku is in, Lingenti believes that the Hammers could receive around £6 million for a sale.

The 24-year-old Masuaku has so far featured eight times in all competitions for the Hammers this season and scored one goal in the process.

Just two of the appearances which he has made so far have been starts; however he will have a new opportunity to prove himself at the club following the appointment of David Moyes as manager.

Lingenti said, “I offered Arthur to (Napoli director of sport Cristiano) Giuntoli three years ago, then two years ago and now he has probably got the idea… along with Juventus, Genoa and Milan. Of course there have been talks. The player is being watched very carefully by a few clubs, including Napoli.

“We almost signed for Genoa three years ago, then Olympiakos created problems and the deal fell through. Juventus were the first side to send scouts for him four years ago, when he was at Valenciennes in Ligue 1.

“Serie A is our objective and hopefully he’ll be there in January. For now, Juventus, Napoli and Genoa are in the lead. However, he’d only go to Juventus if the Bianconeri sold Alex Sandro.”
