Aston Villa captain John Terry has revealed that he did not sleep for two nights after joining the club.

Terry joined the Villains during the summer transfer window following a successful spell with his boyhood club Chelsea for whom he served as club captain and is regarded as a legend.

At the end of last season, many would have expected the 36 year old to retire from football, however he ended up signing a one year deal with Villa.

Terry has since revealed that he did not sleep for two nights after joining the club because he was afraid of singing his initiation song in front of his team-mates.

He said: “It was really intimidating being the new person, the worst thing about it was the song. For two days I didn’t sleep!”

A video of Terry singing Stand by Me by Ben E King while a guitarist strummed along is present on social media.
