This Liverpool man compared to Michael Owen by Ian Rush

Ian Rush has revealed that young Liverpool sensation Ben Woodburn reminds him of Michael Owen.

The 18 year old Woodburn has been destined as a future superstar after breaking into the Reds first team last season.

He also made headlines in September after scoring during his international debut for Wales to help his country to a 1-0 win over Austria.

Woodburn also broke a record held by Owen last season when he became Liverpool’s youngest ever goal scorer after scoring against Leeds United in the EFL Cup at the age of 17 years and 45 days.

He has so far scored one goal in 10 appearances this season and will be hoping to work hard in training in order to convince Jurgen Klopp to hand him more chances.

Rush feels that Woodburn reminds him of Michael Owen. “He’s a bit like Michael Owen,” Rush told the Daily Mirror.

“He’s quick, but he’s got a bit more skill than Michael. He won’t score as many goals as Michael. He’s a bit like myself when I was a youngster, he can play with both feet.”
