West Ham battle with Swansea for England international

West Ham and Swansea are reportedly interested in signing Jack Wilshere who is prepared to leave the Gunners in January in order to boost his chances of making the England squad for the 2018 World Cup.

The 25 year old Wilshere has only played 2 Premier League appearances so far this season and Gareth Southgate did not name him in his latest squad for friendlies against Germany and Brazil as a result of the lack of game time which he has seen.

There appears to be no way back into the first team picture at the Gunners for Wilshere and a move in January looks necessary if he wishes to stand a chance of being part of the Three Lions World Cup squad.

As a result, he had recently said: “He said I need more football. That is what I have got to do. I have got to take it on board, try to get into the Arsenal first team and hopefully I’ll be selected. I have just come back to full fitness. I am happy with where I am, playing-wise. I am trying to get into the Premier League team.

“At the moment I am concentrating on the now. The future will take care of itself. All I have got to do is stay fit and play my football. I want to stay at this club — I have said that many times.”
