According to reports, Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez is looking to offload Aleksandar Mitrovic during the January transfer window and bring in two new strikers with one of them being Liverpool’s Danny Ings.
After returning to full fitness, Ings appears to be surplus to requirements at the Reds. He has only made one appearance for the club in all competitions this season which came during the League Cup and has failed to even make the bench for Premier League games, being used mainly in the clubs reserve side.
The 23 year old Mitrovic also appears to have fallen down the pecking order at the Magpies this season and has only made three appearances in all competitions, despite scoring two goals in the process.
It will make sense for the club to try and offload him in January if they are looking to buy Ings outright. Considering that he is not part of their plans, Liverpool are likely to be keen on selling Ings.
