Controversial football pundit Joey Barton has revealed that he does not think that Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez will leave his job.
Benitez is on the bookmakers list of possible candidates to become West Ham manager after the Hammers parted ways with Slaven Bilic this weekend following their loss against Liverpool.
Barton also believes that Benitez could be backed with significant transfer funds during the upcoming transfer windows in order to bolster his side.
The Spanish manager had been previously on the verge of becoming Hammers manager in 2015 before Real Madrid approached him.
When talking about the possibility of Benitez leaving Newcastle United, Barton said: “I know he was close to it.
“But the fact Newcastle looks like it’s about to be sold, if you were going to buy Newcastle you’d be wise to say ‘sit tight and we’ll give you x amount of money when we come in’. I can’t see Rafa budging.”
