Wolverhampton legend explains why Santo was right to reject Everton

Former Wolves star Steve Bull believes that the club’s manager Nuno Espirito Santo was correct to rule himself out of the running for the Everton managerial position.

“At first glance Everton might appear a rather attractive proposition – they are, after all, an established Premier League club with a decent budget,” Bull told The Express and Star.

“But I genuinely feel, when you weigh everything up, there is a potentially even more attractive proposition here at Wolves.“Fosun have made no secret of their desire to make the club one of the biggest and best in the land and Nuno wants to be part of that.

“Granted, it’s still very early days. But his first five months at the helm have gone better than anyone could have dreamed and he has seen glimpses of what this club can be.”

The Toffees have been without a manager since parting ways with Ronald Koeman two weeks ago and Nuno was reportedly one of their targets to become their new manager as a result of the impressive work which he has been doing at Wolves this season.

Wolves are currently flying high in the Championship and are in first place. Nuno reportedly rejected advances from Everton in order to finish off his target of taking Wolves to the Premier League next season.
