Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he thinks that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will go on and become an important member of his side as time progresses.
Oxlade-Chamberlain, who arrived at Anfield on transfer deadline day for a fee of £35 milliion, initially appeared to be shaky during his first few matches for the club, however he now appears to be settling into his new role.
Following Jordan Henderson’s injury, Klopp tweaked his usual 4-3-3 formation for this weekend’s game to a 4-4-2 and this involved Oxlade-Chamberlain playing on the right of midfield.
The England international went on to score his clubs third goal of the game and ended West Ham hopes of a revival after Manuel Lanzini had pulled one back less than a minute earlier.
Klopp appears to be thrilled with the progress that Oxlade-Chamberlain is making and said, “It was very intense for him, completely different to the things that he is used to.
“He did really well. I know for these offensive skilled players, how difficult it is for them, to have me all the time shouting. In the first half when he was on the other side, it wasn’t good for my voice.
“I just like this player because he is already experienced but he is so open to get used to what we do and that is really nice.”
