According to a report published by The Daily Mail, Everton have joined Manchester City in the race to sign West Brom skipper Jonny Evans.
City attempted to sign the former Manchester United star Evans during the summer transfer window but failed to meet the Baggies £35 million asking price.
City are looking to add Evans to their ranks in order to bolster their defensive options. Though he could earn a healthy amount of cash if he joins the Citizens, it will be hard to see him playing regularly for the current Premier League leaders.
Everton are also interested in Evans and with the likes of Michael Keane and Ashley Williams so far being unconvincing in terms of their form, he could see regular game time if he joins the Toffees.
Everton are currently struggling in the League and owner Farhad Moshiri is prepared to spend big in order to improve the club’s performances.
