Everton boss Unsworth makes worrying admission ahead of Watford clash

Everton interim boss David Unsworth has said that his side desperately needs a win ahead of their win against Watford on Sunday.

The Toffees were expected to challenge for a place in the top four this season following a summer of heavy spending during which they brought in the likes of Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane, Sandro Ramirez and Gylfi Sigurdsson.

They are however struggling and are in 18th position on the League standings after taking just eight points from their opening ten games.

Now ahead of the clash against Watford, Unsworth said: “Sunday is a massive game for the club. It’s a great game it’s a great opportunity to get back to winning ways and Sunday is about Everton Football Club.

“We need a win. We need a win for the players desperately to give them some confidence and we all need to come together and be together and win a game of football.”

Unsworth was also hoping to secure the managerial position on a permanent basis following the sacking of Ronald Koeman but as the club have lost all three of their matches since he took over, his chances will be very slim of getting the position.
