Champions League side keen on a move for Newcastle United man

Belgian side RSC Anderlecht are considering a January move for Newcastle United forward Aleksandar Mitrovic, according to Het Laatse Nieuws.

Mitrovic joined Newcastle United from Anderlecht in 2015 at the end of a spectacular season in Belgium where he scored 28 goals throughout the year but since his move to England, the controversial forward has failed to replicate this form and has seen his stock fall at St. James’ Park.

This lack of form has led Mitrovic to fall down in the pecking order, with the likes of Joselu and Dwight Gayle picked ahead of him and this role of a bit part player has reportedly left the Serbian frustrated at Newcastle.

As a result, many have suggested that Mitrovic will be moving away from St. James Park in the upcoming January transfer window and the recent interest from former club Anderlecht will definitely be something the forward might consider.

Anderlecht are said to be looking to welcome back the Belgian to the club and give him opportunity to revive his career at the place where the forward first made his name.
