Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has been selected as the joint winner of player of the month award for the month of October, days after the Croatian was forced to shut down his social media.
Lovren has been selected as the joint player of the month for Liverpool, despite performing poorly in his few appearances during October – with the Croatian hitting his low against Tottenham where he was responsible for two goals in a 4-1 defeat.
This poor performance led many fans to abuse the player online, which forced Lovren to quit social media altogether to escape the abuse.
There were hate comments from some section of supporters directed to Lovren and now the Liverpool fans have tried to show their support for the defender by voting him as the player of the year.
Lovren shares his prize with Mo Salah after the Egyptian enjoyed a fantastic month where he scored three goals in five games.
