Leeds might have just made the perfect signing to get promotion bid back-on-track

Leeds have lost their early-season form and at the huge risk of disappearing all together from Premier League promotion reckoning.

They face an uphill task of returning to the playoffs zone after losing most number of games (6) of the top 10 sides.

However, the club have made what could turn out to be a perfect move to arrest their recent woeful run, appointing former Fiorentina and AC Milan coach Gianni Vio as a member of manager Thomas Christiansen’s backroom staff.

Vio is a set-piece expert as they come, recently helping Brentford improve significantly in that department.

A delighted Christiansen said of Vio upon his arrival: “He’s a specialist and he’s one of the best in the world. His CV and all the numbers tell good things about him, what he has achieved in many clubs.

“One of them is Fiorentina where he did a fantastic job. He has many interesting ideas. The club told me there was a possibility (or recruiting Vio) and of course I want to have the best with me. I’m more than happy with that.”

With Vio’s analysis and training, there is bound to be a significant increase in the amount of goals Leeds score.

The Italian’s reputation makes him a perfect signing which without a doubt will boost the club’s promotion chances, and that there are players with top quality on the ball already at his disposal, Vio’s work is made easier.
