Klopp confident Liverpool will find a penalty taker

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted that his team will “find a player” to be their penalty taker after they missed their fourth straight penalty at Anfield during their 3-0 Champions League victory over Maribor on Wednesday.

Mohamed Salah was given the opportunity to step up and make a claim to be the Reds penalty taker during their Premier League win over Huddersfield last weekend and he missed. James Milner was given an opportunity from the spot during the Maribor game on Wednesday and he also missed while the score was 1-0.

Though these misses did not cost the Merseyside club during their past two games, it could prove very costly if the trend continues. The Reds went on to win comfortably through goals from Mohamed Salah, Emre Can and Daniel Sturridge.

Even though Milner missed on the day, Klopp refused to criticize his effort and said: “After you win a game there’s not a big concern but of course you don’t like this.

“I thought today the penalty was a really good one but it was a fantastic save as well. You have to respect that. I think the last penalty was not too creative (Salah’s) but today it was a really good one.

“Before that Roberto missed and before that Milly missed probably? Yeah well for sure we will find a player! But the situation how we got it was world class move and dribbling from Roberto, it was really good.”
