Liverpool plotting a swoop for quality Mexican attacker

Liverpool are interested in signing young Mexican starlet Diego Lainez and had sent scouts to watch over the youngster in the recent U-17 World Cup, according to the Daily Express.

Lainez is one of the most wanted youngsters in the world football, with a host of top teams trailing the promising attacker.

Lainez currently plays for Liga MX side Club America, where even at the young age of 17, the forward is a regular member of the first team.

However, it is not Lainez’s exploits with his club side that has made him a hot prospect but his recent impressive performances for the Mexico side in the U-17 World Cup in India.

Lainez was instrumental in Mexico’s run to the Quarter Final, with his best performance coming in the 3-2 defeat against the eventual winners England – where the 17-year-old bagged a brace.

The youngster’s impressive performance against the strong English side caught everyone’s attention and it has been reported that Liverpool have recently shown interest in signing the player.
