James McCarthy was omitted from the Everton match day squad that played against Leicester City on Sunday and this is reportedly due to yet another injury.
McCarthy played his first game for the season as he came off the bench last week for the Toffees during their Carabao Cup elimination at the hands of Chelsea.
Though the 26 year old McCarthy was named in the Everton provisional squad on Friday, he did not travel to the King Power stadium and this is said to be because of a hamstring injury.
McCarthy is now likely to miss the Republic of Ireland’s upcoming World Cup playoff fixture against Denmark.
Meanwhile Everton lost 2-0 again Leicester on Sunday in what has been their second successive loss since Ronald Koeman was sacked last Monday.
The result leaves them in 18th position on the standings and in the relegation zone with just eight points from ten matches.
