Henry Onyekuru as revealed that he is unsure about whether he will return to Everton during the January transfer window.
The Nigerian international earned himself a move to the Toffees during the summer transfer window following some impressive showings for Eupen in Belgium last season. He was however loaned to Belgian giants Anderlecht for this season in order to gain more first team experience.
He has so far excelled and scored several goals from 16 games so far. This has led to speculation that the Toffees may consider recalling him early in January, especially considering that they are struggling in front of goal this season.
Onyekuru has however revealed that he is unsure of whether he will end up returning to Goodison Park this season. “I follow the path that is being drawn up for me. Wherever I go after New Year, I do not know either,” he told Het Nieuwsblad.
“Whether Everton has a contractual option to get me in the winter? Everything is possible. I’m their property, they decide.
“I have never said that I’m sure I’ll leave Anderlecht. The most important thing is here and now. I’m happy and everything is going well. What’s happening in winter, we’ll see.”
