Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has defended defender Dejan Lovren following his disastrous performance against Tottenham in the League last weekend.
Lovren was calamitous and was personally responsible for the first two goals that Spurs scored on the day. He was eventually substituted after just 30 minutes.
The Liverpool defense has been poor as a whole so far this season and Lovren has been one of the players that has been regularly singled out for criticism. Some have even suggested that he should not be donning the jersey of the Reds first team.
Lovren will likely not start when the Reds take on Huddersfield this weekend, however his manager Klopp has defended him saying: “When I think about Dejan there are a lot more positive things than negatives ones. Everything is ok.
“You have no idea how it feels. I’m not the kind of person to stand around with a smart phone rather than helping.”
