Manchester City manager Pep Gaurdiola has played down the words of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp which suggested that the Citizens could win the League title by January.
City are currently the favorites to lift the Premier League title this season as they have taken 28 points from their opening ten games of the season and are playing a fantastic brand of football.
The only teams to have a better points total in the history of the Premier League are the Chelsea side of 2005 and the City side of 2011. In both occasions, those clubs went on to win the League.
Klopp suggested to French source SFR Sport on Saturday morning that City could be Champions by January.
However, Guardiola reputed Klopp’s claims by saying: “You are English – from a long time ago, did you see a champion in January? Me neither.”
Guardiola will certainly know that his team are in a commanding position to win the League but he will not want them to be complacent.
