Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has admitted that both he and Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino would like to work together again. Pochettino and Shaw enjoyed a good relationship when they worked together at Southampton.
The 22 year old Shaw appears to be out of Jose Mourinho’s future plans with United. He has so far only made two appearances for the Red Devils this season, both of which came during Cup games.
Shaw is also thought to feel that he has done everything possible to try and force himself back into first team contention while Mourinho is unhappy with the player’s attitude.
Speaking to Guillem Balague’s Brave New World: Inside Pochettino’s book, Shaw said: “He used to call me his son. That’s how good our relationship was. I’ve had lots of ups and downs, but when I was with Pochettino it was only ever up, up, up.
“I think with Southampton he achieved the impossible. We were one of the best footballing teams in the league… I do hope that I can play for him again one day. And I think he really wants me to play under him again.”
