Real Madrid star Luka Modric believes that West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has what it takes to turn the situation around at the club.
Bilic has come under intense scrutiny this season and the Hammers have taken only eight points from their opening nine games this season. They are only out of the relegation zone on goal difference. Should they lose to Crystal Palace this weekend, it will be very hard to see the Croatian keeping his job.
Nonetheless, Modric is confident that his former boss can turn things around at the East London club and said he can improve the situation.
He said: “I have a great relationship with Slaven. We speak a lot and I don’t like to see him in this situation but I’m sure he has quality and he will find a way to survive this.”
Modric knows Bilic well having worked under him with the Croatian national team and he added that the two continue to keep in contact.
He continued, “I wish him all the best. For me he is a great coach and a great coach for West Ham and hopefully in the future he will have better results with them.”
