Nolan states West Ham needs to start this player to stand a chance against Tottenham

Former West Ham star Kevin Nolan has said that West Ham manager Slaven Bilic must start captain Mark Noble during the club’s game against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday if they want to stand a chance of causing an upset.

After not displaying convincing form during the early parts of this season, Noble was dropped to the bench for his sides last two games against Brighton and Hove Albion and Burnley respectively and did not even appear during the games.

It is vitally important that the Hammers do well in the game if Bilic wants to boost his chances of keeping the job and Nolan thinks that the club will stand a better chance of causing an upset if they play Noble.

He said: “Mark’s a great character and he’s a great lad. For me, he’s what West Ham need. West Ham need those sorts of players, especially heading into a game like Tottenham away.

“Mark Noble wears his heart on his sleeve and loves West Ham. He’s a West Ham boy through and through, and for me he’s the perfect fit for the Club and the captaincy and the way West Ham play.”
