Michael Owen has predicted that the game between Liverpool and Tottenham which will be held at Wembley Stadium during the weekend will end in a draw.
“As good as Liverpool’s 7-0 win at Maribor in the Champions League was, you have to feel that Spurs’ 1-1 with Real Madrid at the Bernabeu will have meant so much more with Mauricio Pochettino’s side surely now assured of making it through to the knockout stages,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.
“Spurs have been very impressive on their travels whilst struggling in ‘home’ games at Wembley. Liverpool have likewise thrived on the road this term and will be buoyed by their 7-0 win in the Champions League.
“I find it difficult to split the sides and expect it to be one for the neutrals at the home of football on Sunday.”
Tottenham are a side that is in good form at the moment and they currently occupy third position on the League standings after taking 17 points from their opening eight games.
Liverpool by contrast have been in frustrating form and occupy eighth position on the standings after taking 13 points from their opening eight games.
Jurgen Klopp’s men however did claim a moral boosting win by defeating Maribor 7-0 in a Champions League clash on Tuesday. They will hope that that confidence can help them during the game against the Lilywhites.
Tottenham will head into the game as favorites considering they are the side that has been playing better football lately.
