Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho has issued a warning to his team-mates claiming that they need to continue working hard if they wish to churn out good results this season.
“The team were very focused right from the first minute,” Coutinho told UEFA.com as reported by The Daily Star.
“It’s been a while since we picked up a good win. We’ve been creating scoring chances without managing to turn them into goals. But in the game things went right for us and we did a good job.”
The Reds started the season in frustrating form and prior to Tuesday’s 7-0 demolition of Maribor in a Champions League encounter, they had only won one of their previous eight matches in all competitions.
The win for Jurgen Klopp’s side will be a confidence boost for the team and also sees them move to the top of Champions League Group E.
The Reds face a tough encounter against Tottenham at Wembley Stadium and Coutinho is right in warning his team-mates that they will need to carry on working hard.
