Leeds chief reveals which player can play crucial role in club’s promotion ambitions

Leeds are hoping to return to the topflight since losing a relegation battle 13 seasons ago, and from all indications, they have what it takes to finally make it to the Premier League this term.

The Elland Road outfit have begun to tie down some of their most important players to new deals, with English right-back Luke Ayling the latest to sign on the dotted lines.

The 26-year-old committed the next 4 years of his career to Leeds on Thursday, and the club’s director of football Victor Orta is elated with the contract extension.

The former Sevilla chief believes Ayling has grown in leaps and bounds since arriving from Bristol City in last summer, and has continued to prove he can become Premier League quality.

Orta is optimistic that the defender can help play a crucial part as Leeds eye promotion.

According to him:“Luke has impressed on the pitch but also off the pitch too.

“He is a leader and a very good person as well, I believe that if he continues to improve the way he has in the past 18 months, then he will be a top flight footballer and I am confident we can go on that journey together.”

Ayling has played 54 Championship games for Leeds since his arrival, including every minute of the current campaign.

The former Arsenal youth player has continued to prove himself consistently, and is on track to cap his hardwork in the league with EPL football soon.
