Aston Villa are scouting Aberdeen shot-stopper Joe Lewis with the view of signing the player in January, according to Scottish Sun.
Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce is said to be open about the option of not extending the stay of on loan goalkeeper Sam Johnstone beyond the end of the season and as a result, is in the market to sign a new custodian as a possible replacement for the Englishman.
Now according to the Scottish Sun, Villa are said to have identified the Aberdeen keeper, Joe Lewis, as their main target.
Recent reports coming out of Scotland suggest the Championship side have already sent representatives to watch Lewis, with a view to a transfer in January.
Lewis is among the most improved player at the Dons and also is among the most important players for the Scottish outfit.
At 30, Lewis is a veteran of the game who has massive experience and it will be something that Villa will look to benefit from in their bid to promotion into the Premier League this season.
