Jermaine Jenas has issued a warning to Tottenham after Liverpool claimed a 7-0 win in a Europa League clash against Maribor on Tuesday.
The Reds claimed the confidence boosting win following a brace from Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino as well as further goals from Philippe Coutinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and a strike from Trent Alexander-Arnold.
“Liverpool really needed that,” Jenas told BT Sport as reported by Sport Review.“Seven goals will give them confidence they can use going into further games.”
The win is a welcome confidence boost for Jurgen Klopp’s men after they went their previous eight matches in all competitions without claiming a win. The Reds now have five point and are in first position in Group F of the Champions League.
Tottenham play Liverpool in a Premier League clash at Wembley Stadium on Sunday. Considering recent form, Spurs will go into the game as the favorites to win considering that they have had better recent form.
