This Tuesday, October 17, 2017 (7:00 PM Pacific) Pumas UNAM will host Leon at the Estadio Olimpico Universitario for a game in the 10th round of matches in the Liga MX Apertura 2017. Both teams are living distinct moments from one another but should still provide an entertaining game in Mexico City.
Pumas UNAM has been one of the worst teams in the Liga MX Apertura 2017, currently last in the league with only eight points. The Mexico City team is on its third manager starting the season with Paco Palencia then transitioning to Sergio Egea and now with David Patino at the helm.
Patino’s first game as the new manager went well as Pumas UNAM achieved a scoreless draw against Necaxa away from home. The Mexican manager will look to continue getting favorable results in charge of the club but will have a very tough game against arguably the hottest team in the league Leon.
Leon has quickly turned things around under new manager Gustavo Diaz, who took over in week 8 of the competition. Since then Los Esmeraldas have won five consecutive games and are now in third place with 22 points, emerging as one of the better teams in the Liga MX Apertura 2017.
Mauro Boselli and Elias Hernandez have really had tremendous seasons, Boselli with nine goals and two assists and Hernandez with four goals and six assists. La Fiera as a whole has a really solid team, tied for the second-best offense in the league with 20 goals and should be able to defeat this fragile Pumas’ team.
