Bilic absolutely must give this West Ham youth team player a first-team opportunity

A late goal from Chris Wood at the Turf Moor on Saturday held 10-man West Ham back from getting their 3rd league win of the season.

Michail Antonio had put the visitors ahead 19 minutes into the game, and while Andy Carroll’s 2 minutes of madness limited the Hammers’ chances against Burnley, the team’s lack of deadly finishing remains a concern.

8 goals in 8 games aren’t exactly the best from a team that has conceded almost double (14) in the same timeframe.

West Ham could do with an additional hand in the striking department before January, and under-23 striker Toni Martinez seems a perfect choice.

The Spaniard became the first Hammer to score a hat-trick at the London Stadium after his goals helped down Manchester United in a 4-2 victory on Sunday.

Martinez has now scored 8 goals in 10 Premier League 2 matches for West Ham United this season, and manager Slaven Bilic wouldn’t go wrong to give him a chance.

Indeed, the 20-year-old had an underwhelming loan stint at Oxford United during the second part of last season, as he could only score once in 15 League One appearances.

However, if his form with the youth side is anything to go by, Martinez could prove to be additional firing power to West Ham’s blunt attack.
