Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has spoken out about his exceptional save that he pulled off to deny Liverpool victory during his clubs 0-0 draw with the Reds at Anfield on Saturday.
During the game Roberto Firmino provided a ball to Joel Matip, who connected well through a side footed volley.
De Gea however managed to pull off a sensational save with his foot to deny the Cameroon international a goal.
De Gea told Sky Sports regarding the save: “Well I don’t know, tried to react quickly. Sometimes football so quickly I just put my foot out and saved the ball. It was my instinct to react quickly and get to the ball.”
Considering that United had to play the game without key squad members in Paul Pogba and Maroune Fellaini and still managed to come back with a point, they will be the happier of the two sides.
Liverpool looked to be the more attacking side on the day and had it not been for the heroics of De Gea, there is a good chance that Jose Mourinho’s men would have lost the game.
