Everton are looking to sign Portuguese midfielder William Carvalho despite his club Sporting Lisbon deeming the midfielder as “untransferrable”, according to the Daily Mail.
The Toffees made a number of high profile signings over the summer such as Gyilfi Sigurdsson, Davy Klassen and Wayne Rooney among others and the Toffees are now reportedly looking to make another shrewd acquisition by signing William Carvalho for a reported £31 million.
Carvalho was once considered among the most talented young players in Europe and signing the now 25-year-old will surely be a coup for Everton if they successfully convince midfielder to arrive at Goodison Park.
While new singings in attacking position are sure to be a priority for the Merseyside team due to their struggles in front of goal, Carvalho is among the best players in the midfield position and he might prove to be a sound acquisition the Toffees who have not looked a cohesive unit this season so far.
Despite Sporting’s stance on the transfer status of the player, it is safe to assume that Everton will be able to pay the required money to convince the Portuguese giants for the European championship winner’s sale.
