Arsenal and Tottenham battle to sign £30million-rated attacker

According to reports, Arsenal are set to battle Tottenham in the race to sign Leicester City star Riyadh Mahrez.

The Algerian made known his intention to leave the Foxes during the summer. The club however refused to sell him to the Gunners during the summer and Spurs are now said to be monitoring the situation.

Both clubs are willing to meet the £30 million asking price and Craig Shakespeare is looking to use the funds generated to invest in the squad.

Mahrez was a key part of the Leicester squad that shocked the World by winning the 2015-16 Premier League title.

Other clubs such as Barcelona, Roma and Manchester United were also linked with his signature and rumors have suggested that he was keen on moving to Barca.

The Red Devils are reported to have been close to signing him on deadline day. There is a good chance that Mahrez will end up finding a new club in January.
