According to a report published by The Sun, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino will launch a £20 million bid for Barcelona star Andre Gomes during the January transfer window.
There was speculation suggesting that Gomes was going to leave the Camp Nou during the summer, however he opted to stay put at the club in order to try and fight for a place in the team.
As he appears to not be part of Ernesto Valverde’s future plans, he has reportedly now resigned to leaving the club.
Should Spurs follow through with a move with Gomes in January, it could mean that they will not swoop for Everton star Ross Barkley.
Barkley is unlikely to remain with the Toffees for the long term considering that he turned down the offer of a new contract and was available for transfer during the summer.
Ronald Koeman’s club failed to find a buyer even though the player’s contract expires at the end of this season.
