Leeds reportedly keen on Premier League centre-back ahead of January transfer switch

Despite shipping an average of one league goal per game this season, Leeds United are still looking to add steel to their defence towards the second half of the Championship campaign.

As per ClubCall, the Whites have plans to take Huddersfield Town centre-back Scott Malone on loan in January until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old has played just 58 minutes of league football since completing a move to the Terriers from Fulham, and a temporary exit appears to be on the cards.

Last term, Malone was a standout performer at the heart of the Cottagers’ defence, while he also weighed in 6 goals at the other end.

He boasts of enough experience at Championship level having led the London club to the playoffs last term.

The Huddersfield man will be a good addition to a Leeds rearguard that could do with more steel, and the loan term, should they manage to land him, could be made permanent if promotion is secured at the end of the campaign.

However, considering the 2 clubs are Yorkshire bitter rivals, it remains to be seen if the Terriers will be keen on helping Leeds.
